M&E/Health Information System Specialist, TB REACH Mozambique

Over the past 40 years, Medical Care Development (MCDI), the International Division of Medical Care Development Inc. (MCD) has worked to strengthen health systems through integrated, sustainable and locally-driven interventions across several public health sectors in over 40 countries. MCDI collaborates with donors, national governments, the private sector, health agencies, communities and local stakeholders to improve health and save lives in the following areas: malaria control; maternal, neonatal and child health; water, sanitation and hygiene; tuberculosis; HIV/AIDS; and other communicable diseases.

MCDI is currently seeking candidates for a Monitoring & Evaluation and Health Information System (HIS) Specialist for an anticipated 16-month Project funded by Stop TB Partnership – TB REACH Wave 7. The project goal is to increase the TB notification rate among girls and women of reproductive age who are currently accessing community, NGO, and government services related to MCH, FP, and/or OVC in 4 districts in Mozambique.

Position Description: The M&E and Health Information System Specialist is responsible for the collection, reporting, and use of information collected by the project and collaborates with the Provincial TB program to collect, report, and use gender-disaggregated information for decision-making.

Location: This position will be based in Lichinga city, Niassa Province, Mozambique
Position Type: Full time
Accountability: This position reports to the TB REACH Country Director.


Essential Job Functions:
• Lead the collection, reporting, and program use of the information collected by the project;
• Collaborates with the Provincial TB program to collect, report, and use gender-disaggregated information;
• In close coordination with the local stakeholders and the Project Director, ensure that case management training materials follow the latest national guidelines and protocols;
• Meet and work with a variety of different actors to address health system management issues, improve coordination, and seek partnership opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Epidemiology or related discipline;
• A minimum of 7+ years of overall professional experience in M&E and Health Information Systems required;
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience as an epidemiologist, monitoring/evaluation, or health information systems specialist;
• Experience with TB, HIV or MCH programs preferred;
• Deep knowledge of data collection, tools, data analysis, and management;
• Must be able to read, write, and speak professional English (USAID 3R, 3S);
• Highly computer literate, familiar with MS Office applications
